LEOSU-DC Organizing Director Steve Maritas stated “the filing of this petition with the Naltional Labor Relations Board in Region 5 is just one of many petitions we will be filing. Presently we have several organizing drives going on in Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia” noted Maritas. “With the recent convictions of the top five (5) security union leaders in the Washington DC, many of the Special Police Officers and security officers in the Washington Capital region are looking for an honest security union that they can trust, while providing them with the much needed leadership and foundation to negotiate improvements in their wages, benefits and working conditions”. The Law Enforcement Officers Security Unions (LEOSU-DC) and its leadership team provides such a trust. We provide full transparency and have put mechanisms in place so that our security union is corruption free, unlike the other security unions in Washington DC”

In addition our security Union LEOSU-DC provides a better service for less dues. We pride ourselves on three very important principles Service, Organizing and Education” all at a lower cost to our members noted Maritas.

Presently the 160 Omniplex World Services Corporation security officers working at various sites of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) in Washington DC and Virginia are represented by a mixed guard union Service Employees International Union Local 32BJ one of the largest unions in the country.
